Lower Sixth Form classes begin on March 3 with school heads being instructed to calculate this term's fees and levies on a proportional basis.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education secretary Mrs Constance Chigwamba said this would give parents and guardians ample time to prepare for the enrolment of their children for Lower Sixth, Herald reported.
"All heads of 'Advanced Level' schools are directed to calculate this term's fees and levies for Lower Sixth Form students on a pro rata basis," said Mrs Chigwamba.
"All concerned are requested to effectively play their party to facilitate the smooth enrolment of prospective students."
The Ordinary Level results were released on February 12 and 285 260 candidates sat for the examinations as compared to 268 854 in 2012.
According to the ministry, the overall pass rate for November 2013 was 20,72 percent while the 2012 overall pass rate was 18,4 percent.
Those who sat for five subjects or more numbered 173 856. Of these, 36 031 scored a C or better in five subjects.
In 2012, 172 698 candidates sat for five subjects or more with 31 767 of them obtaining a Grade C or better.
Of the 173 856 candidates with five or more registered subjects last year, 86 906 were female and 86 945 were male.
The top 10 performing schools are Monte Casino High School, Anderson Secondary School, John Tallach, Nyanga High, St Ignatius, ZRP High School, Nyazura Adventist High, Regina Mundi Secondary, St Dominic's (Chishawasha) and Kriste Mambo Girls' High School.
