Teachers fume over incentives
29 Apr 2014 at 09:41hrs | Views
Teachers have expressed their displeasure at the move by Primary and Secondary Education minister, Lazarus Dokora to ban schools from collecting teacher incentive fees saying the move was done without any consultation.
Dokora on Friday penned a circular to schools advising them to stop collecting incentives for teachers as this tended to over-burden the poor parents.
With this, Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe attacked Dokora on its facebook page, saying he should desist from making decisions without seeking their opinion.
This comes after the minister last month declared holiday extra lessons illegal without first consulting teacher organisations.
