Former education minister David Coltart says he still receives communication from teachers thanking him for his outstanding work during the life of the inclusive government.

"I would like to thank the many teachers throughout Zimbabwe who write to me, almost daily, with words of encouragement," Coltart said.

"I appreciated working with you and acknowledge again your wonderful commitment to uplift the lives of millions of Zimbabwean schoolchildren.

"Please keep up your sterling work in difficult circumstances - future generations need you continue your dedicated, faithful service."

Coltart cited a letter from a Harare teacher thanking the former minister and asking him to continue inspiring the educators.

Below is a letter written to Coltart by a teacher in Harare.

"I'm a teacher at Tafara Harare, Sir you are still very popular with the teachers. As a leader, I think you need to just keep on writing to inspire us.

"To me u are the source of inspiration. It seems as the new government is against the teachers and the students. With weak jaws teachers deliver lessons - this has a negative impact especially to slow learners."

Coltart, a national executive member from the Professor Welshman Ncube led MDC was instrumental in sourcing text books for all schools in the country under the education transition Fund among other achievements.
