Mbuya Mafuyana School which is being constructed in Chegutu East constituency is expected to be complete by October this year, paving the way for proper infrastructure for the more than 300 pupils who are learning in tobacco barns.

About 310 pupils, who have been learning in a hostile environment, using tobacco barns as classrooms, will soon get proper learning facilities as new classroom blocks that are being constructed are expected to be complete by the end of the year.

This Friday, the National Assembly member for the area Webster Shamu and members of the Levy family who are assisting in the construction of the formal classroom blocks, paid a visit to the current facilities being used by the 310 children.

Mr Raymond Samuel Levy commended staff at the school for remaining committed towards the education of the future of the country despite difficult working conditions.

Shamu said the school under construction will be ready by October this year as two blocks have reached the roof level while the five other blocks are at different levels of construction.

Despite the poor learning conditions, the students showed their brilliance when questions were thrown by the visiting Levy families which later donated textbooks, some related stationery and food stuffs.

Shamu paid school fees for seven pupils up to the end of next year.
