Parents and educationists say the government should follow up to ensure that its directives are adhered to.
The festive season is now over and parents have already started making preparations for their school children.
While the majority of students who sat for the Grade 7 examinations last year have managed to secure Form 1 places, some parents feel that the directive given by government banning entrance tests caused some confusion as some schools failed to comply.
Schools in the country are compelled to adhere to government directives and after realisation that most school heads were abusing the entrance tests, the government stepped in to stop the tests.
Some parents have pointed out that in some cases, over 2000 students are made to pay non-refundable fees for entrance tests at a school that enrols less than 200 form one students.
This is a direct contravention of the government ban on entrance tests for Form 1 places.
