'No to condoms in schools,' says Dokora

Primary and Secondary Education Lazarus Dokora yesterday said he will not allow distribution of condoms in schools, arguing that it would c0ompromise the dignity of the country and that the practice is culturally unacceptable in Zimbabwe.

His remarks follow attempts by some organisations to start distributing condoms in schools amid revelations that teenagers were engaging in sexual activities as much as adults.

Dokora said parents should also teach their children to sustain.

Dokora said it was more important to explore new technologies such as ICTs in the curriculum review and to also find possible ways to enable children to reach the highest possible levels of achievement.
