Zimbabwe government offering $20 000 for tech projects

Young and upcoming technology enthusiasts and experts have just received a short on the arm as government has unveiled $20 000 support to see the projects and ideas become a reality under innovations and commercialisation fund (icf)
The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development in its 2015 budget, has an allocation of funds that are dedicated to funding Research, Development and Commercialisation of Innovations.

The fund is to be disbursed in the form of loans or grants, which are accessible on a competitive basis.
Invitations are hereby extended to individuals, public and private organizations or companies, research institutions and universities that have science and technology innovations and Research and Development outputs and processes requiring seed funding, to apply and register these with the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development.
Projects will initially be funded to a maximum of $20,000, with a possibility for further funding. Applicants are required to submit project proposal briefs and where possible they should be in a position to submit a prototype of the project for demonstration when called for.
Preferable consideration will be for projects focusing on:
I. Agriculture
II. Health
III. Energy
IV. Water
V. Mining
VI. Indigenous knowledge systems and technologies
VII. Emerging technologies such as Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, and ICTs.
The Submissions should be made on or before Friday, 26 June, 2015. Applications should be typed and must be submitted in both hard and electronic form. Electronic copies should be emailed to: rdi@mhtestd.gov.zw
