National University Of Science and Technology students have rapped the institution on registration dates which they say they will fail to beat as their owing to their parents later pays.
The semester begins on 25 January while registration ends on the 22nd days before most people get paid.
Late payments attract a fine.
Complained one student who cannot be revealed to protect her from possible victimization : "Education is surely for the elite. Our semester begins on the 25 January while registration ends on 22 January then my father's pay date is way after 25 January yet Nust expect me to pay full fees by the end of this week.
"The salary that l am talking about is not even enough to cover everything bearing in mind that l am not the only child at home plus l need other things like rent and groceries" she said.
If l do not pay my full fees in time, l'm at risk of being charged with late registration fee. Seriously, l would have failed pay fees in time which means l do not have money then l'm charged with late registration. Where is that money supposed to come from?
"Well these are some of the things that have led to some people qualified to be at university with good grades, spend their days seated at home doing nothing or opting for temporary teaching (sadly it is now difficult to even get a place there) after completing A'level.
"Well l am just #ThinkingOutLoud as the week is slowly passing by and l know most of us still do not have money for fees".
Added another student "That's one thing l always fight over....the education system is messed up. You have rich students who failed but they can afford denying those who can't afford the right to education....it's not just education my dear the systems are made by the elite for the elite. look at health care, housing, law etc it's a corrupt system".
