Low O-Level pass rate a concern

Educationists say the 27,46 percent pass rate at O Level shows that more needs to be done to buttress gains that have been made in the country's education sector.
This comes at the backdrop of the release of Ordinary Level examination results by the Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) this week.
The educationists say more should be done in terms of needs such as ensuring that schools with inadequate teachers and those without learning materials are assisted to ensure that the pass rate surpasses 50 percent.
Educationist, Tapera Chikandiwa said students should have access to computers and other aids that will allow them to achieve better results.
This year, the highest O Level pass rate was in Masvingo, which recorded 31,9 percent, whilst Mashonaland East was last with 22,98 percent.
