President Robert Mugabe, who is also the Chancellor of the Chinhoyi University of Technology, has capped 314 graduands at the institution, the ZBC News reported.

101 of the graduands were conferred with a Master of Science in Strategic Management Degree.

The graduation ceremony also saw students who participated in a World Science Competition in Malaysia being honoured for coming second in the event.

Meanwhile, Chinhoyi University of Technology Vice Chancellor, Professor David Simbi, commended government for improving salaries of university staff, adding that the human capital base at the institution is changing for the better with the number of PhD holders having increased to 18 this year from only four last year.

Professor Simbi however bemoaned the shortage of lecture space at the research laboratories, saying the problem has become a limiting factor to the university's growth.

He said Chinhoyi University is considering introducing an Animal Science degree programme, which will mainly focus on animal reproductive health technology.
