Teachers in some schools in Bulawayo have revealed that they have kicked off their strike.

"I reported for work as usual but am not teaching.
"The same applies to my colleagues.
"We are knocking off soon," said the teacher on condition of anonymity.
Reports reaching Bulawayo24.com indicate that the same situation is obtaining in various schools.
Zimbabwe Teachers' Association (Zimta) president Richard Gundane confirmed that teachers would not report for work starting today until they receive their salaries on July 7.
Government has since appealed for patience.
Acting Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Supa Mandiwanzira said government acknowledges the difficult and desperate situation that is faced by its workers.
"The situation is because of the desperate situation that the government is facing," said Mandiwanzira.
