With a lot of anticipation on how the 2012 National Budget will be presented by Finance Minister, Mr Tendai Biti, a veteran educationist and former cabinet minister has called for a fund to be set aside for the establishment of an education bank to boost the country's education sector.

Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu says Minister Biti should consider setting aside funds which will be channelled in the establishment of an education bank considering the financial challenges that most students, parents and institutions face.

Dr Ndlovu also called for a people centred budget that takes into account the low income levels of a larger population of Zimbabwean people.

The 2012 budget will be presented this Thursday and Finance Minister Biti faces an uphill task after previously failing to adequately fund crucial sectors like agriculture, which is the backbone of Zimbabwe's economy.
