St David's Bonda Mission in Nyanga has closed down after hungry students went on a rampage after authorities ran out of money to buy food.
Bonda mission school is part of over 90 properties of the Anglican Church of the Province of Central Africa whose control was seized by a clique of excommunicated bishops led by Harare's Nolbert Kunonga and Manicaland's Elson Jakazi, a former army officer.
Sources said the girls walked kilometres to Nyamadzi River before they were stopped by the school's authorities, on their way to Mutasa distrrict's ministry of Education offices.
The girls reportedly wanted to air their grievances that included alleged poor quality of food, sexual harassment and interference by Kunonga's faction in the school's affairs.
