Government transfer teachers

Government is working on transferring teachers countrywide with top Primary and Secondary education official insisting that there are no shortages of educators.

Government has in recent months transferring staff in other departments such as police and Zimra.

"The Government's position is that we're conducting a rationalisation process to identify schools that are overstaffed and those that are understaffed," said deputy minister Paul Mavima.

He said, "We're going to fill these positions where some schools have teacher shortages.

"What we have is not really a shortage of teachers so rationalisation is necessary," he added.
