Mugabe caps 1682 CUT graduands

The Chancellor of Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) President Robert Mugabe has capped 1 682 graduands who were conferred with various degrees at the institution this Friday.

The year 2016 witnessed an increase of 19 percent in the number of graduands from last year.

The ceremony also marked a new chapter for the university as it awarded its first two doctoral graduands since the inaugural graduation ceremony 12 years ago.

One hundred and seventy-three graduands were also conferred with masters degrees and among them was the Minister of State for Mashonaland West Cde Faber Chidarikire.

CUT Vice Chancellor Professor David Simbi said universities need more support with respect to appropriately trained science, technology and engineering education academics and the correct research laboratory environment.
