A local beverage company has given Harare Hospital relief after donating over 6000 kgs of meat that will serve the hospital for up to 6weeks.

The recently held Castle Lager braai fest by Delta Beverages saw 12 280 kgs of meat being consumed and for every kg consumed at the event, an equivalent amount was split equally between Harare and Mpilo Hospitals and each got 6140 kgs.

Delta Beverages sales executive Mr Stanley Muchenje said his organisation saw it fit to positively impact the social environment in which the company operates.

Harare Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mrs Peggy Zvavamwe expressed gratitude for the kind gesture saying it has brought great relief to the hospital.

Guest of honour Minister of Health and Child Care Dr David Parirenyatwa appealed for more corporate support and praised Delta Beverages for its auditable social responsibility gesture.

Minister Parirenyatwa also warned youths against indulging in acts that put them at risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases ahead of the festive season.
