Minister of State for Mashonaland West Webster Shamu and the Zanu PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman Ziyambi Ziyambi made an impromptu visit at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital for a feel of services at the institution.
Briefing the media on his observations at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital, Ziyambi said the staff went into action after discovering there were some strangers seemingly on a mission.
He said there were a few patients when he arrived at the hospital around 08:15 in the morning and some of the patients were yet to be attended to by a doctor two hours after turning up at the health care facility.
Later Ziyambi and Minister Shamu visited the Chinhoyi Eat n' Lick branch which was destroyed by fire on Tuesday morning.
The two ministers expressed dismay at the poor level of disaster preparedness in the town.
When the building caught fire, Chinhoyi Municipality could not render fire fighting services as its tender was said to be broken down and fire fighters had to come all the way from Harare.
