Sources privy to the succession battles say the Mnangagwa camp is fighting to dismantle the Mujuru faction and kick her out of office at the elective congress next month.
If everything goes according to plan, the former Women's League boss, Oppah Muchinguri will be nominated VP and second secretary at the congress.
"With Muchinguri as VP, next year Grace would impress upon President Robert Mugabe that their political, social and economic interests would be safe with Mnangagwa as head of state. She would advise him that his time was up and Mnangagwa should be the 2018 presidential candidate," said a top Zanu-PF politburo source close to Grace.
