Councillor calls for more campaigns on cancer and HIV

Bulawayo Councillor Mlandu Ncube has challenged the council and health department to put more effort in campaigns that have to do with HIV and cancer ailments saying not much has been done on these ailments.

According to latest council minutes Ncube noted with appreciation that various health promotions and awareness campaigns had been carried out locally and nationally with positive results particularly on HIV and related ailments.

"In his view it was high time such promotions and campaigns were focused on other illness as well, notably cancer which was now a real threat in society. This warranted Council's and Government's intervention as this disease was now getting out of hand," reads the minutes.
