Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the recent situation in Nigeria
TOKYO, Japan - Terrorist attacks in Kano, a state in northern Nigeria, considered to be conducted by Boko Haram, an Islamic militant group on Friday, January 20, are extremely inhuman and unforgivable acts, and Japan strongly condemns those attacks. Japan also expresses its sincere condolences for those who have been killed and the bereaved families.
Japan strongly hopes that the Government of Nigeria and its people overcome ethnics and religious differences, and continue making efforts toward the stabilization of the security situation.
