Two years post the official launch in October 2015, Mopane Foundation International is holding a Gala Dinner on November the 4th 2017 in Sheffield whereby all proceeds will go to school-going age orphaned children's education under their support from rural Zimbabwe.

Within these 3 years, the organisation fully registered as a charity in England and Wales has grown from strength to strength. From the initial 8 kids it was sponsoring in one school in Matebeleland South, it has seen itself increasing kids under their sponsorship to a whopping 35 in 3 provinces; MatSouth, MatNorth and Shurugwi in Midlands! All of the 35 get their fees paid for, full uniforms bought and basic stationery and assistance with accessing all accessible educational opportunities kids their age access.

Just over a week ago, 2 of those pupils from Nkayi, one of the most remote areas in rural Matebeleland joined some pupils their age from elite schools to represent Zimbabwe in the North Gauteng Junior Science Expo competition in Pretoria, South Africa. "That is a milestone for us as an organisation and our work. Trust me on this; nothing beats the teary smile of a child who have nothing trying to show you their appreciation, not even a pay cheque. Them bringing a Merit award home was just a cherry on top of the cake!" says Nomsa Neke, the organisation project lead. "The organisation's financial appeal to facilitate this recent trip to SA yielded less result in UK. However, in SA an anonymous sponsor who called themselves "the good Samaritan" came forward and paid for the kids' & teachers' coach fares to SA, accommodation and bought them loads of clothes. The organisation only paid for their team member's accommodation who was with them, all their return fares back to Zimbabwe, food and transport costs whilst in SA. Someone who was anonymous as well volunteered to be a dedicated driver for the 5-day duration of the trip. An appeal for clothes saw people from all walks of life coming together and they left SA with more clothing items than they probably ever owned in their entire lives." She continued.

"Here we are calling you all to join us celebrate the milestones, help us raise these parentless kids and allow them at least to access basic education. Let's do so style, through an fun-filled evening with loads of entertainment, good food, networking and many more activities. Purchase your tickets through Eventbrite (#tickets">here)  and book your exhibition stalls by calling  Nomsa at +447450287082.

Prepared to be wowed by our young ambassador 15-year old Nadine Nkala, her charity work and her planned visit to spend 2 weeks mentoring our kids in Africa in 2018! I am in my freaking late 48s and I do feel like an amateur to this child! She is just awesome! Have a chance to get a feedback from the man on the ground, our cordinator Rev Hlanganani Dube who did all the 2017 tour of all schools with Ms Neke in June, oversaw the facilitation of kids' passports and stood in for the organisation by accompanying the kids on a 5-day trip to South Africa. More details to follow as they get confirmed but it is going to be SUPER-ACE! That is a promise" She concluded.

Do not leave until late to book your place as places are limited. Any questions or queries concerning the organisation's activities or anything contact us on;
