Officials say the hostage incident at a bowling alley near Birmingham has ended with the arrest of a gunman.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service said two people who had been held hostage at a bowling alley in a shopping centre in Nuneaton were released.
The gunman may have been injured when police moved in to end the standoff. Sky News reported that he was apparently moved to an ambulance and taken to hospital.
The bowling alley operations manager also said the situation had been resolved.
Unconfirmed reports said that the gunman was either an ex-husband or former boyfriend of an employee.
An eyewitness described a "quite scary" situation unfolding outside the centre.
"There were police cars arriving, there was a helicopter, police dogs, armed police stood all around the bowling alley", he said.
The police early on said that the incident was not terror-related.
