House collapses into 6ft hole

A young couple Rosie, 25, and partner Chris Brennan, 30, from Northampton, UK were in shock as the house they had paid £163,000 to move into collapsed into a 6ft hole.
This happened as they celebrated with pals and both were treated in hospital for minor injuries - and face a £24,000 repair bill, which their insurance company will not pay.
Rosie and teacher Chris paid for a survey which revealed the floor was not properly supported. But they loved the Northampton house so much they bought it.
Rosie said: "It was a massive shock. One minute everyone was laughing and joking, the next we were falling through the air.
"We didn't know there was a six-foot void under the floor - we've no idea what to do now."
A spokesman for insurers Direct Line said: "We explained that inherent building defects were not covered."
