More than 17,000 capsules filled with powdered dead babies have been seized by customs officials in South Korea after a smuggling attempt. You wont believe this gruesome â€" but true â€" story!

Thousands of smuggled pills filled with powdered baby flesh were intercepted by South Korean customs on May 7. The sickening process requires bodies of dead babies to be chopped into tiny pieces and then dried in ovens before being crushed into powder! (Unfortunately, this not the only totally shocking baby story we've reported lately.)

The Daily Mail reported that these pills are from northeastern China and believed to be a miracle cure for all ailments (with little proof they actually work!). There have been 35 smuggling attempts of these "stamina boosters" since August 2011 said the report. They are in high demand in parts of China even though they've been tested to contain dangerous bacteria and other harmful ingredients.

The San Francisco Times reported the pills are 99.7 percent human and the babies' gender can be discerned from the contents of the powder. It is not known where the babies came from, nor is it known how the babies died.

The South Korean Customs Service said they are heightening the intensity of their searches in order to put a stop on the horrifying trade. Additionally, Chinese officials have been cracking down on the production since last year.
