World's shortest man meets world's shortest woman: Video

The world's shortest man and shortest woman had their big summit earlier this year, posing with a copy of the Guinness World Records book placed between them to illustrate their size.

Seen dressed in traditional national outfits, 72-year-old Chandra from Nepal and 18-year-old Jyoti from Nagpur, India were thrilled to meet one another and be recognised.

Standing proud at a mere 54.6cm, Chandra said: "I'm very happy that I'm being recognized by Guinness World Records and that my name will be written in a book.

"It's a big thing for my family, my village and my country.  I am very happy."

As well as being the world's shortest man, Chandra's size means he is also the shortest man in history, breaking the previous record of India's Gul Mohammed who was 57 cm tall.

Jyoti, at 62.8cm looks to relatively tower over Chandra.

Due to her size, she has to have clothes and jewellery specially made. She sleeps in a tiny bed and uses special plates and cutlery to eat.

Having already starred in a number of Indian films, it is her hope to be a successful.

And with such big ambitions and a huge will to realise them, who'd bet against her?

The new Guinness World Records 2013 Edition will be available on September 13.
