Animal rights groups and many Zimbabweans have been very critic about the boss of a leading US web-hosting service, GoDaddy.com's Chief Executive Bob Parsons for killing an elephant in Zimbabwe and posting the video online.

In the posted video the businessman criticizes elephants for damaging farmers' crops. He appears waiting for elephants to arrive in the night. Soon, a bull elephant approaches and he shoots the elephant. Big swarms of glad villagers hit the spot next morning to eat the dead elephant's meat.

Parson supports his action, arguing that farmers could lose their entire crops and might suffer starvation unless destructive elephants are killed. It should be noted here that elephants are a big problem for farmers in Zimbabwe. Elephants can easily guzzle 1000 pounds of food a day.

Parsons said he was not ashamed of his concerned action.

Supporting Parson, Jonathan Mackenzie of Zimbabwe posted a message saying, "As a Zimbabwean who has worked in ... areas where the necessity to kill [rogue] animals takes place I appreciate your actions regardless of your motivations."

But, Wildlife World Zoo in Arizona suggested that nonviolent efforts should be employed to ease the conflict between humans and elephants, such as relocating elephants away from communities.

Parson's Arizona-based GoDaddy. com offers domain & Web hosting services.
