A man has been charged with sneaking back into his old JAIL.

Matthew Matagrano used to be an inmate at New York's notorious Rikers Island prison.

And he is alleged to have found back inside after impersonating a jail official.

Matagrano is said to have used a badge and ID card to sneak back in.

And officials have said his stay lasted for over a WEEK.

He was apparently only spotted by prison guards when he began moving inmates from one cell to another.

It was not known why the 36-year-old would have wanted to spend more time inside.

He has previously been caught posing as a Board of Education worker to enter schools.

Matagrano has a list of convictions including sexual abuse and is on New York State's sex offenders register.
