Surgeons removed a rake that was embedded in a policeman's head after he and two colleagues were attacked while singing in a karaoke bar after work, authorities said.
Vu Xuan Tien, 23, was in a stable condition after surgeons at Kon Tum province hospital removed the rake, said Vo Van Thanh, director of the hospital.
The rake was wedged in the back of his skull and neck, local news reports said.
Tien and two other policemen were with friends at a karaoke bar after they finished work Sunday night when three men armed with knives, a stick and the rake attacked them, police said.
The two other policemen suffered less severe injuries, Thanh said.
