Snakes invade Indian soccer pitch

Kolkatta - In India, they have things on the pitch even more slippery and dangerous than Leo Messi in full flight.

After this weekend's league match between Mohun Bagan and Arrows, a dozen of  highly poisonous snakes made their way onto the pitch at the Kalyani Stadium near Kolkatta.

Fortunately no-one was injured in the incident which local authorities attribute to the intense summer heat in the region.
