Zimbabwean man in a US jail for fatally assaulting wife

A ZIMBABWEAN man is in a United States jail after allegedly fatally assaulting his wife last week Friday.
Texas police say Judith Dwairo, 34, died after being attacked by her husband, Amon Dzwairo. in their Plano home early Friday.
Amos remains in the Collin County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault. Bail was set at $250,000.
Authorities were called to the family's two-story brick home in the 700 block of Player Drive about 3:30 a.m. Friday. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and he was arrested on an aggravated assault charge. She died about 4 a.m. Saturday.
The woman was not expected to die from her injuries, Plano police spokesman David Tilley said. He said he did not have any details about the attack and he said police were awaiting a ruling on the woman's cause of death from the Collin County medical examiner.
According to Collin County appraisal district records, the family purchased the home in August 2012. The 2,600-plus square foot home is listed on the property tax rolls as being worth about $211,000, records show.
Heather Henderson told WFAA-TV would see the couple's two children in the front yard, but not often.
"You could tell he was very strict," Henderson said.
"You could tell he was no one to mess with. I mean, he ruled the roost.. period."
