President Robert Mugabe, who is in New York, the United States, is expected to attend a number of meetings lined up at the United Nations General Assembly.
This Sunday evening, the President is expected to attend a South to South meeting where heads of state and government in developing countries meet to discuss ways of uplifting people's lives in their countries through trade, among other issues.
President Mugabe is also expected to attend the meeting on the realisation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) regarding people with disabilities.
The MDGs are to be achieved by 2015.
Zimbabwe together with other developing countries are pleased to participate on such issues affecting their citizens as they lack access to advanced technologies which are needed by people with disabilities to match their counterparts in society.
Zimbabwe has already made strides in creating a conducive environment for people with disabilities to fight discrimination by ensuring that 10 percent of the total allocation of the BEAM programme aimed at educating children in primary schools is set aside for people with disabilities, among other policies.
