ALLEGATIONS against Zimbabwe embassy officials in London reportedly escalated this week with officials remaining tight-lipped.

The ZimDiaspora.com reports that after publishing a story last week they were "inundated with more complaints of inhuman treatment by embassy officials."

Some organisations representing the exiles have been informed and there are calls for a massive demonstration against the Zimbabwe embassy officials.

Allegations include verbal abuse and show of disrespect for Zimbabweans seeking assistance at the embassy.

The publication claims it received "up to 19 emails and telephone calls within a space of three days" after their initial story.

"I went there to sort out my passport. What I experienced is similar to how black people were treated during Rhodesia. I felt so small. The official threw forms at me to complete at the same time she was eating something and as a result the forms were tainted with her food. She never said sorry to," wrote a complainant who requested anonymity.

He added: "What makes it so serious is that the set up is designed in a way that you cannot lodge a complaint to anyone. I am just someone on a work permit in England or I was mistaken for an MDC activist or asylum seeker. Even the MDC supporters do not deserve such treatment because they are Zimbabweans".

Another concerned Zimbabwean from Cardiff, capital of Wales wrote: "I felt like nothing in my own embassy. There was a long queue but the official was shouting on top of her voice about my problems, in a way that breaches confidentiality. She called my name and then started talking to me as if I have committed a crime".
