A racist woman has been jailed after throwing flour over her black neighbour and telling her: 'You are white British now'.
Kellie Wells, 42 of Gillingham, Kent, climbed her garden fence in July last year and poured a mixture of flour and water over her neighbour Pamela Bower using an ice cream tub. Mrs Bower had been on the phone to her sister in South Africa at the time.
The racist mother-of-four also called Mrs Bower, who was a former friend, a 'black gorilla' and threatened to burn her house down, Maidstone Crown Court heard.
Two months earlier, she shouted over the fence in a mock Indian accent: 'Take your welly boots and go back to your own country'.
Mrs Bower, who was born in Africa, has lived in Britain for the last 15 years and became friendly with Wells. The pair would frequently drink wine together but when the relationship soured she erected a fence between their properties.
Wells admitted racially aggravated harassment - but denied throwing flour over her neighbour. She was sentenced to 33 weeks in prison today and given a 10-year restraining order.
Sentencing Wells, Recorder Gordon Reed said: 'There is little evidence you show remorse. Overall, this was appalling conduct. One cannot overstate the seriousness of it. It simply cannot be tolerated.'
