Dead baby turned into python says mum

A 27-year-old woman from Kwamhlanga, in Mpumalanga, SA, murdered her five-month-old daughter in August after claiming that whenever she was alone with her baby, it would turn into a python and try to swallow her alive.
She said she heard a voice telling her to take the baby back to the waters she had come from.
She allegedly threw the baby into a pit toilet, killing it.
The mother appeared recently in KwaMhlanga Magistrates Court on a murder charge.
The court instructed that she be referred to a mental institution for observation.
