Britain's Prince Harry has appointed two new personnel to his African charity Sentebale, which aims to help orphans and vulnerable children in the continent.

Britain's Prince Harry has made two new appointments to his charity for African orphans.

The royal - who is third inline to the throne - has enlisted the services of former IBM chairman Larry Hirst and Nigel Cox, a former audit manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, to the board of Sentebale, which he formed in 2006.

The prince's spokesman revealed the new trustees have been appointed to "augment the already strong board at Sentebale".

He added to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "It is always beneficial to get new minds on board. The charity is always looking to build on the strong work it does."

Nigel, who was born in Zimbabwe, has worked in Africa before as the managing director of Southern Breweries, covering operations in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Swaziland and Lesotho.

Sentebale was founded by Prince Seeiso, from the Lesotho Royal Family, and Harry to help Lesotho's orphans and vulnerable children.

The establishment came about after the pair struck up a friendship when the British royal spent part of his 2004 gap year in the kingdom, where he worked as a volunteer on a number of welfare projects.
