ZANU-PF UK Chapters has indicated that followers of its Facebook page have challenged Zanu-PF government to stop being obsessed with the issue of elections and focus on developing the country and reviving its economy.
Through its Facebook post, Zanu-PF UK said it was clear from its followers that the Zanu-PF government was concentrating on measures to win elections and abandoning the issues of development and economic revival.
"Followers of this page who represent a wide spectrum of Zimbabweans are calling for Zanu-PF to come out of the election mode and focus on the economy (Zim Asset). We think that is a good call. The election mode is divisive," said the chapter.
"It is a distraction. A horse cannot pull and kick at the same time. The mandate we have is to deliver socio-economic outcomes. Sometimes winning an election just takes delivering your last promise. Then the people will trust you as your record speaks for itself."
