Concerned parents in Manchester, UK, have taken their children out of a school after a teenage boy posted a photo of himself holding a huge AK-47 rifle on Facebook, UK Metro reported.
According to the publication, parents of several pupils from Royton and Crompton School in Oldham, Greater Manchester pulled out their children in a panic after the picture surfaced on social media.
It is also reported that the boy had initially posted it as his Facebook profile picture in August but it resurfaced in other pupils' news feeds when he customised it with the French flag as a tribute to the Paris terror attack victims.
When parents found out about the photograph, they informed the police and council as well as the boy's parents.
Police officers investigated the situation but decided that the child did not commit a crime by posting the since-deleted picture of the gun.
The headmaster of the school was forced to write a letter to parents reassuring them that the teenager had not intended to worry anyone.
