ZAPU Europe unanimously endorses Dr Dumiso Dabengwa.
ZAPU Europe held its General Conference on the 5th in Birmingham to elect and endorse new national leadership which will be confirmed in its 10th Congress which will be held in Bulawayo from the 15th to 18th December 2015.
Following Mr Thulani Nkala's withdrawal from the Presidential contest, Dr Dumiso Dabengwa was unanimously and overwhelmingly endorsed as the preferred ZAPU candidate for the presidential position.
Mr Themba Mthethwa the current ZAPU Europe PEC Strategy and Policy portfolio holder was elected to become a National Executive Committee member. Mr Mthethwa is a thoughtful, calm and mature leader who is well known for his intellectual fire-power. Mr Mthethwa is one of those leaders who will excel in any portfolio which the President will assign him, but above all, he will not accept a position and then go to sleep.
Ms Sakhile Sibanda the current NPC representative in the UK was also elected into the NEC, Ms Sibanda brings experience, discernment and mature leadership. She is a hardworker of note.
Mr Actwell Sibanda; Brian Mvirimi, Reginald Mhlanga and Johnson Mnkandla were endorsed as members of the National Council of Elders.
Mr Lawrence Siziba; Mlamlankunzi Nkomo; Ms Nomagugu Mpofu and Alphas Ndlovu become new members of the NPC.
ZAPU's 10th National Congress is a defining milestone, which will usher in new leadership and new strategic direction for the Party. The current NEC performed below par and do not deserve to be reinstated. Only a few performed exceptionally.
