A mother awoke to her child's screams, on Thursday night, and discovered a large python biting down on his head in Macksville, Australia. According to Daily Mail, the boy's mother, Tammy, grabbed the snake off her son's face after the animal found its way into their home in northern New South Wales.

The 6-year-old boy, Tyler, was reportedly asleep atop a bunk bed when the reptile slithered onto his bed and repeatedly bit his hand and head.

Upon hearing his screams, his mother rushed into the room, snatched the snake away and called for help. The Telegraph reported that a family friend, Craig Baker, killed the snake.
