Man bites two cops

TWO Trinidadian police officers were bitten and beaten during an attack by a man who ran amok in his village on Saturday night.
According Trinidad Police, two on duty police officers, Constables Ramsundarsingh and Narine responded to a report of threats being made by the suspect at Western Trace, St Mary's Village.
When they arrived on the scene, the policemen met the male suspect sitting in a white B-11 Nissan Sunny, attempting to "kick-start" the vehicle.
Narine approached the suspect and requested his driver's permit and insurance, but the man allegedly used obscenities.
As Narine moved to arrest him, the suspect allegedly grabbed a cutlass from the car.
The two police officers and the suspect ended up on the ground during a scuffle.
The suspect bit Ramsundarsingh on the left thumb, and Narine on the abdomen.
The suspect then pushed Narine against the vehicle.
Another police officer came to the scene and the three officers detained the suspect.
He was arrested and taken to the police post where he was charged with driving without a driver's permit and insurance, obscene language, possession of a weapon, malicious damage, assaulting police officers and resisting arrest.
