Pastor Evan Mawarire, #ThisFlag movement founder is due to give an update on the success of the hashtag movement at Chatem House, London on October 19.
He has been invited to give a speech on social movement in Zimbabwe.
"The innovative use of social media in Zimbabwe has provided a popular digital rallying point for citizens to comment on and critique the government.
"#ThisFlag and other social media activist movements played a leading role in coordinating a national 'shutdown' on 6 July in protest against the worsening economic crisis. Non-partisan online movements have proved difficult to counter, and mark a significant change in how protest is vocalised and mobilized" Chatem House said on its website.
He is credited with galvensing Zimbabwe and plot demonstrations aimed at toppling Zanu PF government.
"At this event Pastor Evan Mawarire, founder of #ThisFlag, will discuss the success of the movement in Zimbabwe and the significance of using social media for mass public protest."
Zimbabwe People First interim leader Joyce Mujuru is also heading to London next Thursday.
