Is there any difference between rapists and men who strip women for wearing mini skirts and dresses

by Moyo Roy

A young woman on her way to Egodini terminus from the city center last week was stripped naked by kombi crew (abowiindi) in public. They accused her of wearing a short dress.

Is this act of violation any deferent from rape? lets discuss.

Patriarchal BullShit is at play here. Prescribing what women must wear. That's Africa will remain poor, ravaged by war and conflict people are just ignorant & refuse to think.

More sadly is the subtle religious undertone at play here. Yall Religious folks SIT THE FUCK down Zim is not a christian country but a secular one!

The problem lies deep rooted in education and these hwindis not having a soul purpose in life. I say who so ever strips a lady in a taxi rank must he themselves be stripped and flogged in public...utter scum.

who defines what short is ?, if it was a white person no one would have stripped her, this is embarrassing, we expect such behavior from bush people not from a country that claims to be educated, the picture only shows her naked, we wanted to see what she was wearing before,

The devil uses our bodies for his own devilish things , that's why he made us cover every part of our bodies .

If anything, this woman must be arrested for indecent exposure, Godfrey you must be aware of this piece of legislation. The crowd was not going to wait for the police, this woman was not only breaking our law but also sinning against God. She was not going to be allowed by the alert touts. Never. Godfrey, if you must send you sister to the shops half naked and you will know that it should never be done, at least not in Zimbabwe.

Where were the police? I suggest the media and society leaders should not give this incident a passing glance. It should be highlighted and petitioned to the authorities and the law should be set in motion to deal with these savages. The police must be prompted in the same way as would be the case in the aftermath of a murder. It should not be regarded as a mere story of ridicule and fun but should be condemmed in the strongest of terms. The danger with such people is that if they are allowed to continue, their barbaric actions might evoke uncontrollable rage among some victims or their parents who might be unable to restrain themselves; imagine a father whose daughter has been so humiliated and he has access to a gun!

The effect of an improperly dressed woman on a man seeing her is the same as that of a man touching a woman on her breasts, waist and privates. We respect women, but they must also respect us by dressing modestly.

This is just barbaric man, they are just as good as rapists, Why for good’s sake would one strip a woman for wearing a short skirt or tight fitting clothes? Only sexually jealous mad men do that. First of all, everyone including those bafoons who strip women for wearing mini skirts, have the freedom and right to wear what they want, so what makes them think what they are wearing themselves is decent? Some man go around wearing tight muscle tops and vests benuka amakhwapha but no one has a problem with that. Please bandla lets respect women and let them feel free to wear what they want and leave judgement and punishment for God if its wrong.

They are wrong to do it. Its actually sexual assault I think, but its not rape. My question is 'Why Why Why did she have to expose herself to possible assault in an area where we all know people behave rowdily against girls in mini skirts.
