is I BCC trying to create an avenue for generating income. Taxis can form their own associations that will serve their interests. I am trying to understand how this move will solve the problems they are talking about. The root cause is not that taxis are not a private company, bobaba sebenzisanini amakhanda, kukhanya ingani sokulamatshona ekhansilini

It is my view that all cars operating as commercial vehicles should be registered as companies be it kombis, scooters, gonyeti etc. As for 2 public companies that's unfair and don't think it is constitutional. As it is if a kombi driver is involved in a fatal accident the owner simply fires the driver without any compensation to the victims. However, if it was a company labour laws will protect the driver and the threat of the company losing its operating license will be enough for the owners to have insurances

The move will monopolise the local transport industry which will lead to higher prices for the consumer and unnecessary extra cost to vehicle owners. It will also lead to price fixing. The idea is not well thought out. Surely there are other better ways of dealing with the highlighted issues without resorting to this!

the city fathers are loosing it. At a time when young poeple are trying their luck in bussness! At a time industries are shutting down day and night! Then BCC frustrates the transport industry?

It not good for the public we want use our c ominibus wat I can say is our city is folling down and BCC must worry about inviting Companies to re open industries. Factries make business oppotunity to the BYO comunity many pple are not working. Imitshova is right let them pic up and drops abagibeli that is good and faster

Free enterprise is the way forward. Council cannot force free standing businesses to amalgamate. Imagine if council did the same to the chip selling outlets. Can u imagine Mr Chips, Nandos and Chicken inn are supposed to operate only under a cooperative! Really? Council needs to just put proper controls in place. Better designed ranks. Better taxi/kombi inspection and approval procedures. And as well as a mechanism of combating corruption within the city regardless of who is commiting it. The ZRP corruption has actually fuelled the wild behavior of some operators coz they are connected
