Two employees at Delta Beverages in Bulawayo breathed a sigh of relief after they were found not guilty of the charge and acquitted at the close of the state case due to lack of evidence.
Sakhile Mpofu and Evans Maphosa pleaded not guilty to theft when they appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya.
The magistrate found them not guilty at the close of the state case and discharged them.
The court was told that on October 14 this year the two were at work at 6am where they started stripping goods which were already loaded in the truck which were destined for Plumtree.
Their truck went to its destination and it was then discovered that the goods were missing.
This led to their arrest.
