Couple joins hands to assault child with copper cables

A couple of Empumalanga in Hwange were lucky to be freed after they were charged for assaulting their child with a copper cable.
Tonderai Madziva (31) and Nester Nyoni (30) pleaded guilty to the charge when they appeared before Hwange magistrate who cautioned and discharged them.
The court heard that sometime in June this year Madziva went to Lupane where the child was staying with the grandparents. On another day while the child was playing with the electric cables, Madziva took the cables and assaulted the child with them.
Nyoni also took a whip and assaulted the child as well.
The abuse was established by the Child Protection Unity after being tipped about the abuse.
This led to their arrest.
