President Robert Mugabe is set to issue his government's 2016 score card today during the State of the Nation Address in Parliament.
His Parliament rare appearance coincide with the introduction of the controversial bond notes and is largely expected to highlight the economic 'achievements'.
"His Excellency, the President will address the State of the Nation Address, which is a requirement in terms of our Constitution that His Excellency should address Parliament at least once every year to inform the nation in terms of the state of our nation" Clerk of Parliament Kennedy Chokuda is quoted saying.
The address is due to be beamed live on ZBC.
Mugabe last addressed the nation in February.
However, Mugabe (92) skirted key issues affecting the economy but focused on Zanu PF decades long infighting.
There was no word on the liquidity crunch which has led to company closures resulting in thousands of people being laid off.
He did not even give the nation an update on his governments' ambitious five-year economic plan, ZimAsset.
