A Shurugwi gold panner identified as Langton Jaison was speared to death by a rival gang at a night club over a gold claim.
Jaison was reportedly stabbed on the abdomen and died on the spot at Zevezeve Bar.
Three illegal gold panners, Ernest Ezekiel Chrispen Chikwata and Babson Chikwanda have since been arrested and are facing murder charges.
In court, Shurugwi magistrate Evia Matura remanded the trio in custody to December 16.
According to reports, the murder suspects approached Jaison and asked him why one of his partners assaulted their relative the previous week.
A misunderstanding arose and the accused persons went to their brother's house and returned armed with machetes and spears, the court heard.
However, Jaison is said to have sensed danger and tried to flee.
But he was not so lucky as the trio gave chase and caught up with him.
One of them speared Jaison once in the abdomen and he died on the spot.
The trio was spotted dumping the spear a few metres away from the body, reports show.
