Lover doused with paraffin, set alight

A 19 year old Esigodini woman - Sithulisiwe Ncube suffered severe burns all over her body after she was doused with paraffin and set alight by her lover.
Ncube's crime was for visiting her aunt in Bulawayo without seeking permission from her no-nonsense boyfriend, Blessing Nkomo aged 20, a magistrate heard.
Nkomo was remanded in custody to 21 December.
The incident happened in November.
According to reports, Ncube was at her grandmother's place in Sihlengeni Village when Nkomo asked her to accompany him to his homestead.
She agreed.
When they arrived, Nkomo quizzed her on why she took the trip to her aunt in Bulawayo without his approval.
Fed up, Nkomo slapping her several times on the face and proceeded to pour paraffin all over her body, soaking her clothes before setting fire on her.
Hearing screams, neighbours dashed to her rescue.
Nkomo was arrested.
