Chikomba Rural District Council (RDC) has proposed a US$2 451 845 budget for 2017.

Hophini Mupamhadzi, the council treasurer said council held consultations in all 30 wards in the district. They also held meetings with special stakeholders like the business community and the disabled.

The finance committee consolidated the proposed budget and it submitted to the province through the District Administrator's office on Friday last week.

He said the budget has not increased from 2016 because of the constant operating environment. The employment to service cost ratio is 26% to 74% respectively.
"The budget has not increased from that of 2016 because of the constant operating environment. Next year's budget has the employment cost of 26% and 74% service delivery," he said.

Mupamhadzi said they hope the budget will be approved by January to allow the smooth flow of council business.
