Gukuradundi denialist Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa should jailed at Chikurubi prison or be
dragged to the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague and
charged with crimes against humanity, opposition Zimbabwe People First
(ZimPF) has said.
Recently, Mnangagwa ttold a United Kingdom-based magazine New States Man that a president was in charge of security operations at the time and not him.
"How do I become the enforcer during Gukurahundi?.
" We had the President, the Minister of Defence, commander of the army and I was none of that. My own enemies attack me left and right and that is what you are buying," said Mnangagwa.
ZimPF spokesperson, Jealousy Mawarire said Mnangagwa is attempting to clear his soiled name.
"It is apparent that the whole story is a desperate, but shoddy attempt at sprucing up Mnangagwa's image in the vain hope he can be Zimbabwe's next President" Mawarire is quoted saying by NewsDay.
"Mnangagwa belongs to Chikurubi or some such place like The Hague-headquartered ICC could have confined him to if all things were equal," Mawarire added.
According to the Catholic Commission for Peace and Justice (CCJP), the Gukurahundi mass killings left over 20 000 civilians dead when Mugabe sent a North-Korean-trained militia to Matabeleland and Midlands to crackdown on dissent to his rule.
